Touring Weight Change

As the fourth race at Minnreg is also a Snowbird’s warmup race, touring car weights will be lowered from 1420 grams to 1400 grams.

Round Three Results and Recap

The “Village Raceway” in Royal Palm Beach was more than ready for the third round of the FSEARA season. A new layout and fresh coat of paint were awaiting racers on a beautiful November Sunday. Conditions were perfect and traction was high as the FSEARA racers took to the track looking for valuable points as we head into the midseason break.

Dave Bowser once again TQ’d and won 17.5 Pro Touring with Joe Sumasky in second and Michael Bruce third.

Donovan Pinkerton crossed the finish line a scant three seconds ahead of Bob Husted for the win in FLRCGT Touring and Jason Gold was victorious in World GT Pan-car class.

Open Mod class saw Dave Bowser with the win and TQ, with Michael Bruce a close second and Felix (need more powah!) Law in third.

Many thanks to the Village crew for an awesome track and thanks to the racers for making it happen and the incredible level of competition and sportsmanship shown by all.

Next race will be round four at Minnreg Raceway in Largo on January 16^th, 2011. Taking the next race to carpet will challenge any driver’s setup skills! See you there!

Race 1 Recap

Race 1 concluded late sunday afternoon at Adrenaline Raceway. Ron and his crew put on a smooth show today and the racing action was great. This year, we are running 3 touring car classes. The 17.5 sportsman class was won by Justin Fawcett, Justin TQ’d the class as well. Moving into the 17.5 Touring Pro, Austin Harrison bolted on a fresh set of rubber and took the class from TQ Dave Bowser. In Touring Open, Dave Bowser got the class victory over JR Mitch. In a full field of World GT drivers, Jason Gold took top honors; while in the RCGT class, Donovon Pinkerton took the win.

We also had our year end banquet Saturday night at The Sphaghetti Warehouse. Our past year champions were given their hardware, we also had the oppurtunity to thank both Tony Munno and Izzy Santiago for thier dedication to the series over the past several years. Here are some photos from the event.

We would like to thank all the racers who came out and supported the race today and look forward to seeing everyone in Daytona next month.

2010 Rule Voting Complete

The results of the voting are complete. We had 23 racers who attended 5 of the 7 racers vote. Some of the changes that will take place for next season include.

13.5 Touring Car class will now be open motor, open battery
17.5 will have 2 classes. 17.5 open esc; 17.5 fixed timing esc
RCGT and World GT will begin the year as championship classes.
2 sets of tires will now be allowed for purchase per event.
Racing will continue to be Sundays, with club option for saturday club racing.
Weight limits will be evaluated and updated once they have been finalized.

Mark Mixon has acceped the nomination of State Director, in order for Mark to officially take the position, there will be a vote. John Grant will be the Assistant Director and Ron Harrison will become head of tech. Be sure to thank these guys for their efforts in keeping the greatest series running another year.

Also, one last big thanks to our retiring crew, Izzy Santiago and Tony Munno for the service they gave to the series.

FSEARA Champions Crowned

After two very hot days of racing, the 2009-2010 season champions have been decided. Taking the overall class win in the 13.5 class was Dave Bowser, Dave edged out Austin Harrison by tiebreaker as both scored 497 points. Master was won by Jim Sowa, Jim scored a perfect 505 points to take the class. Finally in the Novak 17.5 class, Cory Parson took a 1 point win over second place Kyle Eden. Congrats to the overall winners and look forward to seeing everyone for the start of the next season come September.

Race Recap

Races 6 and 7 were both made up at the Kissimmee Raceway this weekend. If any of the racers forgot why we take the summer off, they quickly remembered why. Track temps were as high as 140 degrees on Sunday, and big props to Dru and his crew for keeping the show running. On Saturday, the class winner were Austin Harrison in 13.5, Cory Parsons in the 17.5 class, and Jim Sowa in the Master class.

Sunday winners were Felix Law in the Modified class, Dave Bowser in the 13.5 class, Jim Sowa in the Master class, and Cory Parson won the Novak 17.5 class.

I would like to thank Izzy Santiago for his hard work the past ten years as the State Director. Also, Tony Munno as head of tech is retiring to racing. Thanks guys for keeping the series going. Look for information to be posted soon on the New State Director, 2010 rule proposition, and voting ballot.

Thanks again for another successfull year in the Florida State Electric On-Road Series.

Race 2 – Superior Hobbies

Race 2 results are in the book, it was a great weekend of racing at Superior Hobbies. Taking Pro Modified was Dave Franklin, winning 13.5 was Dave Bowser, Dave held off TQ Austin Harrison for the last 3:30 minutes to take the win. In 17.5, Kyle Eden was the car to beat, taking both the TQ and the win. Jim Sowa continued his dominance of the masters class, and the World GT class saw Mark Burt take the win. The next race is scheduled for November 15, 2009 at Adrenaline Raceway, we look forward to seeing everyone there. Also we are now taking nominations for both State Director and Assistant State Director, Izzy Santiago and Tony Munno have dedicated many hours of their time and effort into the series and have elected to end thier posts after the season. If you are interested or know someone that is, please see Izzy at the next race.
